Seven Gnostic Beliefs
As this current age slowly comes to it's inevitable end there has been a great increase in knowledge throughout the world; and therefore it's no coincidence that there's been an increase of interest in Gnosticism. Thanks to this interest there are several very impressionable people who believe that Christian Gnosticism is not only a form of Christianity, but the true form of Christianity.
But, is this true? A few years back I started studying this particular religion, and even four years later this religion still makes very little sense. Even though I write that, there were several beliefs of the gnostics that I read that I now find to be incredibly bizarre. If you proclaim yourself to be a true follower of Christ, I implore you to have your armor on (spiritual, not physical), and read the following:
1. There is one unknowable God, but within this god are several Aeons who are in fact aspects of this unknowable god.
The gnostics believe(d) that the true supreme God was both invisible, and unknowable. They believed that he had Aeons which were aspects of himself, and these Aeons were both visible, and knowable. They also believe that their god was not responsible for creating the physical world that we all live in now.
2. The physical world was created by the imperfect demiurge, Ialdabaoth/Samael/Saklas
In one of the Gnostic myths there is a story that for most intents and purposes parallels the story of creation found in Genesis. In this version however, it starts off with a certain female aeon deciding that she wants to create something without her male counterpart. This aeon is Pistis Sophia (Wisdom). She creates a being, but then finds it so hideous, and frightful that she feels she has no choice, but to wrap it up in a cloud, and place her "son" on a throne.
The story then states that this creature looked around, and seeing nobody else decided that he was the only deity, and thereby the only God. Meanwhile Sophia has been cast aside, and is praying to the supreme god for forgiveness, which is granted.
Meanwhile the demiurge has decided to create a material world, and to create mankind.
3. Ialdabaoth created the material world as a way to trap souls inside of material vessels.
While the book of Genesis teaches that God breathed into man, and man became a living soul; gnosticism teaches that souls were around, but then imprisoned into flesh vessels. Because of this, they believe that the physical world is evil. As a result this has caused a few odd beliefs.
4. The flesh is evil, but the soul is pure.
Gnostics tend to believe that the flesh is evil, because it was created by the evil demiurge. How certain sects handled this was nothing short of bizarre. Some sects believed that abstaining from all forms of physical pleasure was the right way to go; while other sects (the Cainites for example.) believed that they had no choice, but to subject their bodies to every immoral sin known to man. Only by doing this could they receive salvation. Salvation by sin.
5. The evil demiurge is the God Yahweh.
Furthermore, Gnostics believe that the demiurge is the god of the old testament. He also goes by the names Ialdabaoth (Child come by here.) Sayclas (foolish one), and Samael (Venom of God, blind god, god who blinds.)
According to various sources, Samael is the actual angelic name for Satan, and means "venom of God, blind god, and god who blinds."
Right away one should see some irony in this statement. For all intents and purposes, Gnosticism touts itself as a religion of knowledge, but it's obvious that it's lacking here. While Satan/Samael may be the god of this world/age, he should in no way be associated as being the same as God the Father.
6. Jesus Christ is not the son of God, but another aeon.
Not only this, but because the flesh is evil, they believe that there is no way that Jesus could have actually been human. Instead they believe that he only appeared as human to man. Making matters worse, some sects believe either that the crucifixion was an illusion trick, or that it was entirely orchestrated by Satan.
7. Jesus Christ came not to rescue sinners, but to give us divine knowledge.
Well now that's just peachy. Jesus Christ wasn't sent to earth to save us! He was sent to earth to give us divine knowledge so we could save ourselves!
So not only do we have salvation by works, but salvation by esoteric knowledge.
These are only seven beliefs, but any true follower of Christ should be able to tell that they are in error.

The Gnostic pollution.
The apostle Paul warned his fellow brothers and sisters of false teachers who would try to seduce them with strange doctrines. Make no mistake about it, Gnosticism was around during the beginning of the true church, and around before the Roman Catholic church was formed. Despite this, Roman Catholicism shares more in common with Gnosticism, that true Christianity.
1. The early church never taught the trinity, but sects of gnosticism did preach about their own trinity. This trinity is said to include Sophia the mother, Chaos the father, and Yaldabaoth the son.
2. The early church taught that salvation came through God given faith, and grace. Gnostics taught that salvation came through divine knowledge.
3. The early church taught that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came down to earth, ministered to people, was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried, and rose three days later. Gnostics preached that because Jesus could have never been a physical being, and therefore was never crucified, never buried, and never rose from the dead. Just this simple fact alone makes the Gnostics anti-Christ.
The Bible warns us of false teachers, and right now there are several. The most recent one to emerge has been Gnosticism. This religion claims to be "true" Christianity, but in reality it is both blasphemous, and anti-Christ.
If any of you have felt pulled into studying these beliefs, I implore you not to. If you absolutely must, then make sure that the Holy Spirit is awakened with you, so this way you will be protected from deception.

Being a Gnostic myself I would like a debate Sir and I will use your own bible to point out your ignorance.
Gnosticism is not anti Christ. They're just anti the-Santa-Claus-and/or-idol-people-have-made-out-of-Christ. I have issues with both conventional Christianity that relies overly much on the teachings of Paul above Jesus himself, and some of Gnosticism because I think they can do better with their mythology. I believe the latter to be closer to the truth though.
Most Christians and Muslims are not worshipping God or the real Jesus. They're worshipping a demon that drives them to war and tyranny, just calling it by the name of God. If "by their fruits you know them" then the name of this demon is Beelzebub, and they are taking the dirty deal that Jesus was offered on the mountain of temptation. The reason they're unable to perform any real miracles, and constantly get caught doing perverse acts is because they are decaying and corrupt from the inside out.
Why do you think that story was in the New Testament? It's a lesson. Jesus had the option of being rich and famous and known the world over, and he turned it down. He would rather nobody know his name than to resort to evil tactics to do it. Now, from the looks of things, Christians are happy to bow to the Devil by thought policing and calling alternative perspectives evil and anti Christ.
The story of Ialdabaoth is about perspective. He is a metaphor for how simplistic, arrogant people put themselves above the Supreme God by exalting the creation or physical manifestation above the Creator. They presume ownership of heaven and hell and tell people that if they don't agree with their worldview, they are going to hell. They lie, steal, and try to hide their corruption and evildoing, rather than using the tools available to them in nature to heal themselves. In fact, they think they are greater than God by presuming they can go against nature, and then when they get slammed in the face for it because God created the universe just fine, they treat him like a Santa Claus who is supposed to correct their mistakes.
Now, all this sounds harsh, I know, but I'm saying it in love. I understand that humans are mostly simple minded and kinda need God to be their personal Santa. However if you're going to go against people who don't reduce God to Santa in the sky, you're going to fail both the logic and the metaphysical soundness test. You're also going to miss out on the real power of the real God because you're worshipping a demon just because it's more convenient to your ego.

Yes approximately. If you equate docetism, that which is mentioned in the New Testament as Anti-Christ, with gnosticism -- a generally accepted interpretation within christianity -- then gnosticism is Anti-Christ.
But from a neutral observers point of view, what you are doing, is just to demonstrate how hard it is to find a consensus between gnosticism and christianity. It's impossible.

The God described in the Bible IS "Satanic," a monstrous Demonic Deity; a Vile, Petty, Vindictive, Jealous, Covetous, Immoral, Genocidal, Paedophilic entity which embodies all the worst attributes of human beings.
No Rational Moral human being reading the Bible can miss it: page after page of murder, torture, genocide, infant slaughters, slavery, incest, rape, child rape and every other Sin under the sun--all EXPLICITLY Commanded and Condoned by YAHWEH/Jehovah.
But SOME otherwise Rational Moral people wear BLINDERS on their Reason. The Gnostics took OFF their blinders to see a Truth BEYOND the Bile; a Deity that could not be constrained by MAN-written dogma. Some Gnostics did take the Fallen State of Nature and Being too literally, but most did not; the Valentinians for example. In fact the Gnostics' reputation as "Dualist" is ironic, given that their philosophy ultimately resolves into a form of Monism.
Their interpretation that the God of the Bible is a Usurper and a Demon is the only way to resolve the "sticky bits" within the constraints of the Hellenized Abrahamic philosophies widely accepted in their era.

Given the similar language, how can one not see that what is being suggested is the prescription of traditional ritual blood sacrifice and cannibalism to appease the Sadistic Bloodthirsty Deity? It doesn't stop there.

Secret knowledge will always appeal to people, just like secrets do in general. People like to think that they have something that others do not, because it makes them feel superior. Then they get to pass secret judgment on everything and everyone else.
But the Bible is the way for us to discern error from the truth.
